Greetings First Parish Church,
The church is in the business of gathering people. Not being able to gather in the usual ways has made this year difficult on all of us. However, if everything goes as planned, on May 16, 2021 something will happen at First Parish Church that has not happened in over a year. There will be a gathering for worship in the sanctuary.
This is huge! I can’t tell you how many hours the church leadership has spent planning, calculating, and training for this moment. Our worship on May 16th won’t look the way worship did pre-pandemic, but it feels like a gigantic step.
Now, our numbers will be limited. You will need to sign up in advance in the same way we required sign-ups for outdoor worship last year. We will require distancing and masks. To access a document explaining our complete protocols and procedures for indoor worship, go here Congregational Orientation . In addition to that document, Pastor Dan orchestrated a short and fun demonstration video with the help of some church members. To access the video, go here https://youtu.be/QfXH9HeeixM.
Lastly, the instructions to sign up for indoor worship on May 16th are below. The plan is to hold worship indoors for the time being. As we begin indoor gathering, we request that you sign up for no more than two Sundays each month in order to give everyone a chance at being in the sanctuary, which leads to more big news. For those who are unable to reserve a space on May 16th, we plan to live-stream the service on our YouTube channel. So, you can watch the service, live, in the comfort of your home.
I’m excited for this! I’m excited to see you in person. I’m excited to speak to, and pray with live people instead of my phone. May God bless this endeavor and may God bless you real good!
