Dear friends,

I remember a convention I went to in Boston. I don't remember the year or the even the speaker's name, but what left a lasting impression is the speaker's story. She was over six feet tall. She talked about being a teenager and having to wear men's clothing. Women's clothing wasn't available in her size. One day, she was lamenting this fact to her grandma. Her wise grandmother said, “When something bothers you, you can ignore it or you can do something about it.” She took that to heart and decided to do something about it. She became a clothing designer specializing in fashions for tall women. It wasn't easy. She didn't know how to become a designer, but she had faith that it was possible.

Being the first one to do something is tough, particularly if you're a trailblazer. Being the first means you likely won't benefit from the experiences of others. You are often literally paving a new way. As the first to speak up or show up, you may just be ignored. You may dream a dream that you never get to see fulfilled. But you may have inspired someone else along the way. Even if you've put just a pebble down on a path that will someday be a superhighway; you have done something incredible. It's possible that you may just have changed the world.

Blessings,
Rev. Estelle

All Things Are Possible With God (Matt 19:26)

Trust Fully In God and Lean Not On Your Own Understanding.
In All Your Ways Acknowedge Him and He Will Make Straight Your Path. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Holy Homework
I invite you to think about that thing that you wished were different.

Will you ignore it or will you do something about it?
What would you do if you weren't afraid?
What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?
Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase.
(Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.)
